Join us for an immersive pottery workshop led by the renowned Korean porcelain artist, MoonDoBang, celebrated for his exquisite craftsmanship and mastery in creating the iconic Korean Moon Jar. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich traditions of Korean pottery while learning from a true expert. Members please contact studio for member discount.

Workshop Highlights:

• Introduction to Korean Porcelain: Discover the historical significance of Korean pottery and the artistry behind the Moon Jar, a symbol of harmony and beauty in Korean culture.
  

• Hands-On Experience: Participants will engage in hands-on activities focusing on creating a proper cylinder using up to 6 lbs of clay. MoonDoBang will guide you through each step, sharing his insights and tips for shaping and refining your work.
  

• Personalized Instruction: With a focus on individual skills development, MoonDoBang will provide personalized guidance to help you develop your skill while mastering traditional techniques.
  

• RAIN Studio will provide basic tools and 25 lbs of Laguna B-Mix.  Students will wedge and reuse clay as they practice.  Additional clay available for purchase. 
  

• Particpants can keep any greenware they want, you will need more than 25 lbs of clay if you are keeping clay.  Each participant can bisque fire one piece from the workshop.  Glaze firing will be available for a fee, fee will be accessed based on the size of the item. Members can fire and glaze as many pieces as desired. 
  

Who Should Attend? This workshop is geared toward those who are able to center at least 3 lbs of clay without assistance and looking to make taller, bigger work on the wheel.

This is not a workshop appropriate for beginner students. Each participant should be able to wedge their own clay and center with ease.  You should be confident in pulling a  3 lb cylinder.

Refund Policy

Due to the advanced planning and cost required to bring Moon Do Bang to Seattle, these tickets are non-refundable. They are fully transferrable.  RAIN will assist in finding someone on the waitlist and advertise the seat at no extra cost. If you would like RAIN to handle the transaction/money exchange we will charge the 3% credit card transaction fee to cover our own cost. Contact us if your plans change, we are here to help.
